National Smile Month runs from 14 May to 14 June –giving us dentists the perfect opportunity to remind everyone about the benefits of oral hygiene. Here are four ways Happy Kids Dental is working to put a permanent smile on our patients’ faces.
We conquer dental fear
Nearly everyone has a fear of something or another – but if your child has a fear of the dentist, it can put both their oral and general health at risk. Making dental fear a thing of the past is part of Happy Kids Dental’s remit – and we have put everything in place to make this happen. From our highly trained paediatric team and special needs experience to our state-of-the-art surgeries and sedation techniques, we can guarantee your child’s experience with us will be a happy one.
We re-educate parents
If you’ve been following the same cleaning regime since you were a child and have passed that on to your own children, we’ll make sure you’re up-to-date with the latest and best advice on dental care. Find out everything you need to know about brushing (do it before breakfast, but wait an hour before brushing after meals), flossing and rinsing; and learn about the techniques and products that are best for your child with the help of the Happy Kids Dental team.
We’ll swap toothbrushes with you
Yep, you read that right; hand your child’s old toothbrush over to us and we’ll swap it for one of ours! The importance of using the right toothbrush shouldn’t be underestimated – if your child isn’t brushing effectively, they’re putting themselves at risk of cavities and gum problems. Happy Kids Dental will assess their needs and prescribe the perfect set of bristles for them from our comprehensive professional range. We’ll also send you home with an oral care pack and guide, so you can empower your child to take charge of their own oral hygiene. It’s all part of our #lovetobrush campaign – so smile and share on social media!
We’re proactive about prevention
Prevention is the key to a lifelong healthy and happy smile, and it’s something we take extremely seriously at Happy Kids Dental. As well as offering tailored support with cleaning and hygiene, we offer early orthodontics for pre-teens, taking advantage of soft, still-growing jaws and creating space for the adult teeth to come through where they’re supposed to. This modern, preventive approach can actually prevent the need for extractions or train tracks further down the line – one less thing for your future teenager to worry about!
