- Invisalign Teen comes with Blue wear-indicators fade from blue to clear on each clear aligner, helping your teenager, you and your orthodontist to gauge wear time.
- Six free replacement aligners are included (in case any get lost or misplaced, e.g. when playing sports).

Conditions which can be solved with Invisalign Teen
Invisalign Teen treatment is clinically proven to be effective. In the hands of experienced orthodontists at Happy Kids Dental, it can be used to treat mild to complex teeth straightening issues
Specifically, Invisalign Teen can help with the following teeth conditions:
Overly crowded or crooked teeth
Overly crowded teeth can get worse over time, and result in severely crooked teeth. This crowding can lead to plaque accumulation, tooth decay and an increased chance of gum disease.
Spacing issues and gaps between teeth can lead to gum problems (due to lack of protection by the teeth), periodontal pockets and increased risk of periodontal disease.
Deep bite can lead to gum problems or irritation, and/or wear on the lower teeth, and can cause painful jaw and joint problems.
Underbite can prevent the normal function of front teeth or molars, which can lead to tooth wear. It can also cause painful jaw and joint problems.
Open bite can cause poor or painful chewing, and even speech impairment. It can also lead to greater issues like temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJD)
Crossbite causes one or more upper teeth to bite on the inside of the lower teeth. This can cause wear of the teeth, gum disease and bone loss.

Questions and Answers
Parents and teens often ask us questions about Invisalign for Teen braces when they come to visit our team of orthodontists at Happy Kids Dental.
Some of the most common questions and answers about Invisalign Teen treatment:
Do braces really help?
Braces can help improve your teen’s smile and make their teeth straighter. Invisalign Teen braces can also improve your teen’s dental health and overall health, since untreated problems with bite can make it hard to bite and chew and can interfere with eating. If your teen has a bad bite, he might be also prone to cavities or gum disease because it may be hard for him/her to clean the teeth.
Are Invisalign Teen braces good and do they work?
Invisalign Teen has been specifically developed with teenagers, parents and leading orthodontists who understand the active lifestyles and unique treatment needs of teenage patients. The SmartTrack material of Invisalign clear aligners is clinically proven to improve control of tooth movement. And over 1.6 million teenagers have transformed their smile with Invisalign Teen.
What is the minimum age for Invisalign treatment?
There is no official minimum age limit for Invisalign Teen treatment, but patients must have most of their adult teeth erupted and be old enough to adhere to the regimen of wearing the aligners 22 hours a day. It is very individual, some preteens will meet these requirements and some teenagers will not.
Is Invisalign Teen a good option for Teenagers?
There are a lot of types of braces available for teens. At Happy Kids Dental we offer all modern teeth straightening solutions. Each case is different, it depends on the biological age of the child as well as on his/her dental age. For some teenagers, Invisalign Teen would be the best solution, however, in more complex cases we might recommend other types of braces. The best solution is to schedule a consultation with an expert orthodontist and discover what type of treatment would suit your teen.
Does Invisalign Teen treatment hurt?
One of the most common questions we hear about Invisalign Teen treatment is whether or not it is painful. With traditional metal braces, the pain the patient feels might never be intense, however, there is a certain amount of pain that comes along with this time of orthodontic treatment. Invisalign is often advertised as less painful than metal braces. Still, there might be some degree of discomfort degree to start with, such as a bit of aching and tenderness in the gums as the teeth start to move. This usually settles down in a few days. The amount of discomfort varies significantly from person to person. Read more about it in our blog.
Can I eat my favourite food with Invisalign?
Parents and teenagers always ask if Invisalign Teen can affect food intake or if diet habits will have to be changed. The simple answer is – there is no need for a diet change! We suggest to take the aligners during meal times and clean the teeth after the meal by chewing a sugarless chewing gum or by brushing the teeth. And then put the aligners back on. It is recommended to wear the aligners for at least 22 hours per day.
Can you chew gum with Invisalign aligners?
Teenagers always ask how to chew gum with Invisalign braces? We suggest that it’s best to remove Invisalign braces during meal times. After the meal, it is a good idea to chew sugarless gum. Because it is a good way to get saliva flowing in the mouth. Saliva helps wash away food particles from teeth and gums, and helps prevent oral health problems such as tooth decay. Chewing is the most efficient way to stimulate salivary flow. Clinical studies have shown that chewing sugarless gum for 20 minutes following meals can help prevent tooth decay. It is not recommended to chew gum whilst wearing Invisalign clear aligners.
How does Coke consumption affect one’s Invisalign braces?
Coke and other sodas don’t affect the Invisalign Teen aligners themselves, but sodas are very acidic and contain sugars and these sugars and acids will accumulate underneath the aligners if they are worn while drinking soda. This will create a highly acidic microclimate underneath the aligners and will damage your teeth by eroding away tooth structure. This is not a problem is you simply don’t eat or drink with the aligners in your mouth so don’t do it.
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
The majority of Invisalign patients wear their aligners for about a year. At the same time, simple straightening can sometimes be carried out as quickly as 6 months, particularly if it’s only the front 6 teeth. However, 6 month isn’t enough time to move the whole tooth, including the roots, into the right place. That is why we suggest that the parents and teens prepare to spend one or two years to strengthen the teeth in harmony with the lips and jaws. In order to get the exact estimate, it would be best to meet with an orthodontist who will access your teen’s teeth and will be able to suggest how long the treatment will take.
Will the teeth move after Invisalign treatment?
The teenager will be asked to wear retainers after Invisalign treatment. Retainers are designed to keep the teeth straight. It is important that the teenager wears them as instructed by the orthodontist.
Do invisible braces work well?
Some parents are worried and ask if there is a chance that the Invisalign treatment won’t be successful. We usually state that orthodontic treatment with Invisalign should be successful if your teen is committed to the treatment. The teenager will need to look after his/her teeth and brush well, follow your orthodontist’s instructions and attend appointments to monitor the process.
What are Invisalign Pros and Cons for teenagers?
There are both pros and cons to using Invisalign Teens. In summary, Invisalign Teens Pro’s are: virtually invisible, removable for better cleaning, eating, playing sports or musical instruments, BPA-free of harmful toxins. Invisalign Teens Con’s: will not suite rule breakers (if a teenager doesn’t wear aligners for at least 22 hours a day, the results of the treatment might be different from the initial plan, or will take longer). It is important to know all the details before you decide to get fitted with clear aligners. Read more about Invisalign Pro’s and Con’s in our blog.
Is Invisalign treatment worth it?
Like with many treatments, investment in Invisalign aligners is dependent on the need of an individual teenager. The best would be to come for an orthodontic consultation with one of the Happy Kids Dental experts and discuss your specific case, before making the decision to commit to the treatment or not.

Unique problems require a unique treatment plan. What is right for one child may not be for another one.
Kia’s goal is to provide each patient with the most appropriate treatment at the most appropriate time, and to ensure that it gets the very best results from this.
