Your first appointment: what to expect

First visits at Happy Kids Dental start both children and adults on a lifelong journey to great oral health.

Here’s what to expect the first time your family comes to see us, from your welcome at Reception to the famous Prize Tower!

How to prepare your child for a dental visit

Dental Visits

I’ll arrive early and be greeted by the reception team who will take me to play in the Waiting Room.

I’ll play in the Waiting Room - there’s a slide and loads of games! Then I’ll be called to go upstairs.

I’ll take the lift (or stairs) to the 2nd floor where they have another waiting room and Paw Patrol games!

I can have a go at brushing big animals’ teeth at the Brushing Stations.

I’ll lay down on the comfy chair and put on sunglasses - my favourite toy can join me too!

I will open wide for the dentist to count my teeth

When I’m all finished my dentist will let me sit up and we high-five!

I get to choose my stickers when I’m finished.

I then head down to reception and will receive a prize from the Prize Tower! All done!

Hygiene Visits

I’ll arrive early and be greeted by the reception team who will take me to play in the Waiting Room.

I’ll play in the Waiting Room - there’s a slide and loads of games! Then I’ll be called to go upstairs.

I’ll take the lift (or stairs) to the 2nd floor where they have another waiting room and Paw Patrol games!

I can have a go at brushing big animals’ teeth at the Brushing Stations.

I’ll sit on the comfy chair and my hygienist will show me the best way to brush.

I will then learn how to brush my teeth with the hygienist’s help

My hygienist will show me how her special brush works.

I’ll then have my teeth cleaned so they sparkle!

I get to choose my stickers + toothbrush when I'm finished

I then head down to reception and will receive a prize from the Prize Tower! All done!
